Warner Parks & Rec Coed Softball Starts April 24th!

Every spring, as the ground defrosts and dries out, our adult coed softball league begins!

This year our league is increasing from 10 to 12 teams. Amazing growth that started with 6 teams way back in 2011.

You can read and print the waivers and schedule here.

If you would like to join the league, simply contact Vince Collins, the Parks & Rec softball representative and he will do his best to find a team who may be looking for players.

Warner Coed Spring Softball Coming Soon!

softball-04Warner Old School PE and the successful spring coed softball league is going on its 6th year this year. I can’t believe our first game was way back in 2011. Time has flown by so quickly. We started with only six teams and now this year it looks like 10 or 11 teams will be competing. Incredible growth for such a small town.

Over the years, it has been very fun watching our community descending upon Riverside Park every Sunday during spring. The sounds of squeals of joy by the children as they play on the playground. The cheers of teammates and bystanders for a great play made in the field. The smells of hamburgers, chicken, steak, sausage, veggies and hotdogs cooking on grills between games adds to the charm. The parking lot is absolutely packed most of the day as loved ones enjoy the games from the sidelines. It’s all precious.

softball-03Spring 2016 will soon be upon us and there is already chatter about who will beat who. Will we see spiffy new uniforms for some of the teams? Will we see brand new faces, perhaps freshly minted 18 year olds, the minimum age to play?

It’s almost time to dust off those cleats and mitt. Maybe it’s time to head to Concord Sports Center and take a few practice swings. Or, like so many of us, we will wait until our first game. Show up rusty, laugh a lot, play a little and simply enjoy the amazing atmosphere of our little town of Warner and the friendly faces who live in it.

Old School PE is now part of Warner Parks and Rec. Coed Adult Spring Softball usually begins in late April or early June depending on when the fields dry out.
